As a gateway to the Rocky Mountains located 25 minutes west of Boulder, Nederland is a small mountain community with a fun, laid-back vibe. As a small crew with big goals, we work together to provide services to improve the well-being of our residents, businesses, and visitors. Position Overview: As our Town Trailblazer (aka Town Administrator), you'll be at the forefront of shaping our town's future. From managing day-to-day operations to fostering community engagement, you'll be instrumental in ensuring that Nederland continues to thrive and grow.!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the charge in supervising all town departments and staff
  • Be the driving force behind our Executive Leadership Team
  • Implement innovative plans to support the growth and development of our community
  • Provide expert guidance and support to our Board of Trustees
  • Keep our finances in check and ensure responsible stewardship of town resources
  • Serve as our Zoning Administrator, guiding thoughtful community development efforts
  • Provide effective public relations, often serving as the voice of our Town’s needs and interests

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in local government or a related area
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License (because every trailblazer needs reliable transportation)
  • Ability to obtain International City and County Management Association Credential Manager Certification within 5 years
  • Residence within one hour of Nederland (because we want you to be part of our community!)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in public administration or a related field (but if you've got the skills, we're flexible!)
  • Experience in positions requiring skills relevant to town administration
