These signs will help visitors find their way to popular destinations throughout Nederland. This will be a great asset to our community. The signs have been custom designed to be visually attractive and to reflect the distinctive identity of Nederland.

The following is a letter that is intended for residents and business owners:
Dear Resident / Business Owner:
An independent contractor, working for the Nederland Downtown Development Authority, is currently installing foundations in the sidewalk area for new community wayfinding signs. These signs will help visitors find their way to popular destinations throughout Nederland. This will be a great asset to our community. The signs have been custom designed to be visually attractive and to reflect the distinctive identity of Nederland.
The sidewalk excavation is for the foundation of the sign pole. After the contractor removes the concrete and digs the proper sized hole, they must install reinforcement rods and call for building inspection. After it passes the inspection, the contractor will install a bracket to hold the sign pole and replace the concrete slab. This entire process may take 4-5 working days to complete. During that time, the excavation should be surrounded with warning devices to protect pedestrians. Installation of the signs will follow in November. Notification will be made when it is scheduled.
