2022 Special Municipal Election

The Town of Nederland will conducted a special municipal election on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022. During this election, registered voters in Nederland will be electing a Mayor and one (1) Trustee.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible to run for the position of Mayor or Trustee, each candidate must first meet the following criteria:

  • I am a citizen of the Untied States
  • I am at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • I have been  a resident of the Town of Nederland for twelve (12) consecutive months immediately preceding the election
  • I am a registered elector in the municipality

Voter Registration Information

Nederland Residents can register to vote online, o at Town Hall. Please come into the office during business hours (Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm) to completely your voter registration. Eligible voters can register up to and including Election Day, Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022.

You can find your current registration, learn about Colorado voter registration requirements, or register to vote on the Boulder County Elections website. Colorado does NOT have a registration deadline.

Abesentee Ballots

If you require and absentee ballot, please provide a written request to the Town Clerk. The request can be emailed to townclerk@nederlandco.org or mailed to Town Hall at PO Box 396, Nederland, CO 80466.

The last day to request an absentee ballot is Friday, August 19th, 2022.

These are the candidates running for Mayor and the Board of Trustees. The order of their names here are how they will appear on the ballot. This was determined during the June 22nd meeting of the Board of Trustees, where names were picked at random.

Ballot Drop Off Locations

Town Hall

Ballots can be dropped off at Town Hall during business hours: Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm. On Election Day, Town Hall will be open from 7am - 7pm, and will be accepting ballots the whole day.

Please only drop off ballots inside. Do not deposit them in the box out front!

Community Center

Ballots can be placed in the official ballot drop box located outside the front doors.

Ballots will also be accepted inside on Election Day until 7pm.
