The Town of Nederland Fills New Public Engagement Manager Role

[Nederland, Colorado] – The Town of Nederland recently approved a new Public Engagement Manager role within Town Hall to enhance communication and engagement with Nederland residents and visitors. The town promoted Peter Cacek, formerly the manager of the Nederland Visitor Center, to fill the role.

As Public Engagement Manager, Cacek will be responsible for the ongoing communication, outreach and engagement with members of the Nederland community, as well as visitors and prospective visitors to Nederland. Cacek will work with Town departments, boards, and other organizations to create and launch effective information campaigns for the Town. His role will also allow tourism development leadership to maximize Nederland’s potential for generating visitor spending and creating compelling travel experiences, all while developing sustainable tourism mechanisms that protect the town’s cultural heritage and environment.

“We’re excited to be able to fill this role to enhance communication and engagement between Town Hall and the community,” said Town Administrator Miranda Fisher. “Adding the visitor component made a lot of sense as we want to also communicate to our visitors and prospective visitors what it means to responsibly and respectfully visit Nederland. Peter’s role at the Visitor Center, his communication skills and his experience working at the Visitor Center and with the Colorado Tourism Office throughout its Reimagine Destinations Program will be a tremendous asset for the town.”

Cacek began his new role as Public Engagement Manager on March 20th and was immediately immersed in hosting the Town’s newest festival, Nederdays, which took place March 24 - 25, 2023.

“I’m looking forward to serving the community and the Town as the new Public Engagement Manager,” Cacek said. “It’s a great opportunity to interact more with residents and businesses in Nederland to better understand their needs while ensuring the Town is informative, transparent and inclusive in its engagement with the community.  I’m also looking forward to expanding my role in tourism management and marketing, and communicating to visitors how to ‘Do Nederland Right.’”
