UPDATE - Thursday, September 12th 2024, 2:10pm
As part of the water service line inventory to Nederland's water system is up to standard, East 1st Street will be closed between Peak-to-Peak and Snyder Street from 7am - 11am on September 17th and 18th. The Utilities department aims to start as early as possible to reopen the street as quick as they can on both days. Questions, comments, and concerns can be directed to Town Hall at (303) 258-3266 ext. 1001.
Starting next week, the Nederland Utilities Department will begin an important project to inventory water service lines at 75 different locations throughout Town. This work is required by the EPA's Lead and Copper Rule Revisions to ensure our water system is safe and up to standard.
What to Expect:
- A truck will visit each address and dig a hole using water and a vacuum to carefully uncover the water service line.
- Once the line is uncovered, the pipe material will be inspected and confirmed before recovering the service line.
- The project will take place over the next several weeks and should not cause significant disruption.
If your home is one of the addresses affected, you will be contacted directly by the Utilities Department. A full list of the affected addresses can be found here: https://nederland.maps.arcgis.com/apps/mapviewer/index.html?webmap=b0c658a5331e489caefc4a6f2e3286a9
We appreciate your understanding as we work to maintain the safety and integrity of our water system!
