Representative Joe Neguse

Dear Neighbor,

As you know, last night a devastating fire broke out at the Caribou Village Shopping Center in Nederland — a treasured hub for residents and visitors alike, and home to many of the community’s most cherished small businesses. Current reports indicate that at least 20 beloved small businesses have been destroyed or severely impacted by the fire, as well as the local ecology center. Tragically, many animals — “animal ambassadors” as they were lovingly described by the center — lost their lives in the blaze.

Our office is closely monitoring the situation, and working closely with local and state officials to support the brave firefighters and first responders whose valiant efforts contained the flames and protected our communities. We are also in touch with town officials about the recovery efforts ahead, and our thoughts are with the people of Nederland and all those impacted by the terrible fire.

We will be there to assist every step of the way.

My office is here to help. If you’ve lost important federal documents, such as Social Security cards, tax documents or passports, we can help you. And if you’re in need of local, state or federal assistance, our team can help you navigate the same.

Please see below for a list of resources that may prove helpful in the event that your family or business has been impacted.
