The following Community Center Sales Tax Extension TABOR ballot language was adopted by the Board of Trustees (BOT) on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. The Town of Nederland is now accepting "for" and "against" statements for the Community Center Sales Tax Extension. Statements must be filed with the Town Clerk by 12pm on Friday, February 18, 2022. Statements can be filed in person at Town Hall, by mail (P.O. Box 396, Nederland, CO 80466) or via email (townclerk@nederlandco.org).
TOWN OF NEDERLAND BALLOT ISSUE 2A: BALLOT QUESTION OF THE TOWN OF NEDERLAND AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION OF AN EXISTING SALES TAX FOR COMMUNITY CENTER PURPOSES
WITHOUT CREATING ANY NEW TAX OR INCREASING ANY CURRENT TAX RATE, MAY THE TOWN OF NEDERLAND CONTINUE TO COLLECT THE 0.42% SALES TAX APPROVED BY THE VOTERS IN 1997 AND REAUTHORIZED IN 2002 WITHOUT EXPIRATION FOR THE PURPOSES OF PAYING DEBT SERVICE ON DEBT ISSUED PURSUANT TO THE 2002 ELECTION (WHICH IS SCHEDULED TO BE PAID OFF THIS YEAR), AND FUNDING THE IMPROVEMENT, RENOVATION, AND REPAIR TO THE COMMUNITY CENTER AND THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE COMMUNITY CENTER AND OTHER COMMUNITY CENTER PURPOSES AS APPROVED BY THE TRUSTEES?
TABOR ballot notices, which will contain the ballot language and the “for” and “against” statements, will be mailed out to each household having a least one registered voter by Friday, March 4, 2022.
