During the December 5th meeting, the Board of Trustees decided to consider filling it's current seat vacancy by appointment. Per CRS 31-4-303, the BOT has the power to fill the vacancy by appointment or by ordering an election.
Because the next regular election will be held on April 2, 2024, the Board of Trustees may decide to fill the vacancy at that regular election. In the interim, the BOT may decide to appoint a person to hold the office for a short time until the April 2024 election.
Those interested in being considered for appointment to the Board of Trustees must fill out the BOT Application for Appointments by 5pm on Friday, January 12, 2024.
