Temperatures in Nederland are expected to plummet to -20°F this weekend. The Nederland Utilities Department urges residents to take precautions to prevent water pipes from freezing and avoid costly damage. Here are some essential tips:

1. Locate Your Water Shut-Off Valve
Be prepared to quickly turn off your water in case of a pipe burst. The valve is often in your basement or crawlspace near the water meter. If you don’t have one installed, consider contacting a plumber.
