We know there are many questions out there about the work on the highway/bridge so we wanted to share some information that we have about this project with the community.
Xcel is preforming what is called a Winter Readiment Reinforcement, where they increase the size of their gas main in a section to allow more gas volume to be delivered to areas they feel are at risk of running too low of pressure during the colder months when gas usage is at the highest. With the work K.R. Swerdfeger Construction is preforming, they are ensuring that the Nederland valley has adequate gas supply for the foreseeable future.
We are aware that the traffic through Town because of this project has been challenging and frustrating. We appreciate the community’s patience as Xcel and K.R. Swerdfeger Construction complete this vital work. The current anticipated timeline for completion is two weeks.
