The Town of Nederland is issuing a request for proposals (RFP) to provide a Nederland Comprehensive Plan update. Ten years have passed since the Town's current Comprehensive Plan, which means it is time to complete an update!
A comprehensive plan is a long-range guiding document for a community to achieve its vision and goals. The plan looks to promote a community's vision, goals, objectives, and policies, by establishing current and long-term needs. Elements of the comprehensive plan may include: transportation, land use, economic development, affordable housing, environment, parks and open space, recreation and tourism (required by state statutes), natural and cultural resources, hazards, capital improvements, water supply conservation, efficiency in government, sustainability, energy, and urban design.
Once a consultant has been selected to lead the Comprehensive Plan update, there will be plenty of opportunities for the community to provide feedback. If you want to share any initial comments about your goals and vision for Nederland's future, we'd love to hear from you! Your comments will be shared with the consultant that is chosen by the Town.
