UPDATE: The water main has been repaired and service has been restored. If you notice discolored water, flush COLD water until it runs clear. Do not flush hot water as this will pull sediment into the hot water tank.
From the Town of Nederland Utilities Department –
On 1/1/2022 a water main broke on Hwy 72 N in front of 210 N Jefferson St. The section of the main break and water shut off is isolated between N Jefferson St and the Nederland Library, no other areas of town are affected by the outage. We plan to repair the main on 1/3/2022 starting at 9am. N Jefferson St will be closed at Hwy 72 N and W 3rd St – No traffic will be allowed through. The sidewalk will also be closed in the work zone area along Hwy 72 N.
Once the main is repaired we will flush hydrants in this area to ensure water quality. All Public Works Staff will be in the field working, if you have any questions or concerns please contact Town Hall at 303-258-3266 for assistance. We apologize for any inconvenience this outage and road closure will cause. We will get the repair done and restore service to the affected customers as soon as we can.
