Over the last few months, Trustee Danforth and Trustee Corvalan were appointed to work with Town staff (Miranda Fisher - Town Administrator, Cynthia Bakke - Deputy Zoning Administrator, and Macy Caligaris - Deputy Town Clerk) on addressing ways to resolve the parking issues currently in the Central Business District (CBD). Town staff were tasked with researching parking codes of other municipalities as well as assessing where parking could be developed in the CBD.
At the January 11, 2022 work session, the Board of Trustees (BOT) supported releasing a survey to the community and business owners to get their feedback on parking in the CBD. Trustee Danforth developed the surveys below which were reviewed and edited by the Nederland Downtown Development Authority. At the February 1, 2022 meeting, the BOT provided some preliminary feedback on the ways to improve the survey. The BOT was directed to provide additional feedback directly to Trustee Danforth and agreed to bring the surveys back as an action item at the February 15, 2022 meeting.
